National Be Brave Day is on May 16th, and I'm excited to share that The Brave Coin will be joining the national movement committed to help children find their inner brave.  Started by co-founders and authors Karla Clark (Three Ways to be Brave) and Christina Furnival (Fear Not!), the program celebrates the day with the Be Brave Challenge, a challenge where students can earn Bravo! Bravery Points by completing worksheets and exhibiting acts of bravery.

Students can earn points for their classroom between May 16th - 31st in order to get an official certificate, shout out on social media and website, and can enter their class for a pizza party!

I will also be incorporating portions of the Be Brave Challenge in my own school visits for the month of May. There are a few spots left before we end the school year! If you are interested in an Author Visit, please send an email to anna@akkaros.com.

What’s scarier… a dragon or the first day of school?

For Sam, it is the first day at a new school that terrifies him, but could a wizard, a fire-breathing dragon, and a quest for a magic coin help him tackle his fears?

This magical story helps kids discover what it truly means to be brave and find the courage inside to believe in yourself.
